The Astrophysics Source Code Library: New codes welcome
The Astrophysics Source Code Library: New codes welcome
If you know of a code that might be well placed here, please mention it as a reply to this topic. This could be your own code, one written by others and posted to arXiv.org, or something else entirely. For each code suggested, we will have a look and, if appropriate, add the code to the list in the future. - RJN
Re: New codes welcome
Browsing arXiv.org > astro-ph today (found here: http://arxiv.org/list/astro-ph/new),
I see the following code listed here: http://arxiv.org/abs/1007.4968 :
The third version of the AMBER data reduction software
Authors: Malbet et al.
(Note: anyone can browse through the day's listings and post any new codes found as a reply to this Topic.)

Re: New codes welcome
Surely you should link to the cfitsio library at GSFC?
http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/fitsio
Also, a separate link to the FITS image compression tool, fpack:

Re: New codes welcome
Rob,
We will post your codes to the list eventually. Currently, we are trying to figure out how to post a new code in this phpBB software while keeping the rest of the codes in alphabetical order. We will solve this eventually!

Re: New codes welcome
CFITSIO and FPACK have been added, and codes now stay in alpha order in the forum.

Another recommendation: setting up categories for libraries by language. For example:
Python:
IDL: IDLAstro includes a further compilation of links to IDL libraries: Xephem (open source) has useful libraries. (They are the basis of PyEphem)

Package for the Interactive Analysis of Line Emission (PINTofALE)
http://hea-www.harvard.edu/PINTofALE/
IDL package to analyze high-resolution spectra. Hooks into CHIANTI, SPEX, and APED atomic line emissivity databases. Also contains several utility programs of general applicability.

Thank you! PINTofALE is in the library on page 2 here: http://asterisk.apod.com/viewtopic.php? ... 60#p128160
If there is something in the entry that needs to be fixed, please let me know; thank you!

Re: The Astrophysics Source Code Library: New codes welcome
You should have the FLASH code up
http://flash.uchicago.edu/website/home/
There description is kind of crummy but its one of the more powerful hydro/MHD/AMR/MPI codes out there
